Anarkali Sets Explained: Mul Cotton, Chanderi, and Chiffon

Our anarkali sets come in three main fabrics — mul cotton, chanderi, and chiffon — and each one has its own character. Here's how to tell them apart and choose the right one.

Mul cotton

Mul cotton is a fine, lightweight cotton with a soft drape, making it ideal for everyday wear or warm-weather occasions. It breathes well and holds hand block prints and hand-dyed colors beautifully, as seen in sets like our Raani Mulmul and Chaand Set anarkalis.

Chanderi

Chanderi is a traditional weave known for its slight sheen and crisp texture, often finished with gota patti or handcrafted floral detailing. It's a step up in formality from mul cotton, well suited to festive or celebratory settings, as in our Chhaav in Chanderi set.

Chiffon

Chiffon brings a soft, flowing movement to an anarkali silhouette. Our chiffon sets are often paired with a hand block printed chanderi dupatta, balancing the lightness of the chiffon with the texture of the print.

Choosing between them

For daily wear and comfort, mul cotton is the easiest choice. For celebrations and gatherings, chanderi or chiffon bring more drama to the silhouette without sacrificing comfort.
